
Sandra Matinyi is an immunologist and microbiologist very passionate about biotechnology and innovations. She was introduced to synthetic biology and she was part of the founding team that saw the birth of Synbio Africa in March 2018. Sandra has directed working teams at Synbio Africa on projects including the biosensor development project for the Biomaker Challenge,a University of Cambridge initiativein October 2018. She supports the IGEM teams of Makerere University and directs the research component of the company.
Sandra Matinyi studied MSc. Immunology and Clinical Microbiology from Makerere University, Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Technology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and she also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in project planning and Management from Uganda Management Institute.
